Employees of UT Group led by their Chairman, Mr. Joseph Nsonamoah on Christmas day, Wednesday 25th December, 2013 distributed packs of food and drinks to the less privileged on some principal streets of Accra.
Dubbed the “Chairman’s Christmas Day Outreach”, the programme is an initiative of the Chairman of the UT Group and brought together over 100 employees, families and friends of the company who distributed over 2000 packs of food and drinks.
The activity took the group through places like Nima, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Kaneshie, Graphic Road, Korle bu, James Town, 37, Tudu and more. It then ended at the Borstal Institute (now called The Senior Correctional Centre) at Roman Ridge where the Chairman presented about 200 packs of food and drinks to the inmates.
The programme which was started in 2004 by the Chairman and with assistance from Captain Budu Koomson provides an opportunity for the less privileged, found on the streets on Christmas day to celebrate Christmas with the UT family.
Addressing the volunteers before hitting the streets Mr. Joseph Nsonamoah said.“Not all of us are privileged, so if one has been blessed I don’t see any reason why we should not give it out.’
He added “It is always a great joy to share what I have with the under privileged as I hope and pray that they get better lives in the years ahead”.
